Our Aikido is also called Shin-Shin Toitsu Aikido. This means Aikido practised with mind and body co-ordination. We express ourselves through our physical movement so it is just as important to develop a healthy flexible body as it is to develop a calm immoveable mind. This is where Kenko Taiso comes in.

The Kenko Taiso are a set harmonious movements which exercise the whole body. They bring together correct breathing, usually expressed as counting out loud, a relaxed active body and a presence of mind in a sequence of varied physical movements. Through the Kenko Taiso we can develop a good feeling for how our bodies are working and spot any problems or imbalances which might be there.
